4th Annual Haley's Ride
On June 6, 2009, approximately 65-70 motorcycles gathered to ride in the 4th annual Haley's Ride. The weather was beautiful, which was such a blessing! The bikers traveled over 100 miles, traveling around the lake and also into North Carolina. When they returned, a wonderful meal was waiting. After everyone was full, it was time to enjoy the bike games. The event was donation only, and to date, has raised approximately $3950!!! We are truly grateful that this event has grown every year, and a good time is had by all! Haley was also able to enjoy "her ride" this year because the weather was so nice, and she had a way to get around! We were also able to sell "Haley's Ride" shirts this year, which turned out to be a hit! We would like to thank all those that attended, and those that donated. Also, a BIG thank you to those that made this day possible. Some people put a lot of time and money into this day, and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Again, Thank you to Everyone!
3rd Annual Haley's Ride On June 7, 2008 approximately 55 bikes gathered to celebrate the 3rd Annual Haley's Ride. The temperature was close to 100 degrees, but that didn't seem to stop everyone from having a good time, all for a good cause. There was great food at the end of the 2.5 hour ride, along with bike games to win trophies. People were also cooled off by the Lake Gaston Vol. Fire truck. Please go to http://macmac.smugmug.com/gallery/5135565_MwcYq#310378905_neNwR to see many pictures taken by Haley's great uncle. A special thanks to Gerald, Haley's great uncle and to everyone else who helped make Haley's Ride such a success.
2nd Annual Haley's Ride On June 2, 2007, approximately 43 motorcycles left from Bracey headed out for a bike ride that lasted around 3 hours and had 3 pit-stops. The weather was beautiful! When the bikers returned, there was BBQ, slaw, and baked beans waiting for all. After lunch, some bikers participated in "biker games," such as the Slow Ride and Double Slow Ride. Each winner received a trophy. There were also a few raffles which raffled off t-shirts that were specially made for the day. Some left after the games, some stayed to chat, and some had lunch again. All in all it was a wonderful day that raised lots of money for Haley.
Benefit Dinner and Concert for Haley On October 6, 2006, our church family at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Gasburg, VA, put on a concert and dinner to benefit Haley. The dinner started at 6pm and the concert followed at 7:30. The dinner and the concert were both wonderful. There was so much great talent involved. We appreciate everyone's hard work and also their time spent on making the concert an inspiring and touching event. During the concert they took up a love offering for Haley. We would like to thank everyone involved with making this night so incredible. (There were so many people involved, we would never be able to name them all.) We want to thank those that prepared the dinner and the many that bought (and sold) tickets. Thanks to everyone that participated in the concert. Everyone was so great and we were very touched by all of the performances. Here are a few of the pictures I took of the concert. I will be posting more as they come to me. (If you took pictures that night, please email them to me!) My pictures are mainly from the concert, but I hope to be adding more as I receive them.
We would like to give a special thanks to: Modern Woodmen of America-Rose and Benny Bryant Wal-mart Distribution of Henderson, NC -For those wonderful chickens J. B. Jones Co. of Blackridge, VA - Donation of potatoes for the dinner Murlo Paper and Plastics, Inc.- Generous discount on paper goods And most importantly to Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Gasburg, VA We are so thankful to everyone in our church family. We are also so fortunate to have so many that are praying for Haley and our family. In addition to all of the hard work for the dinner and concert, the church family has done so many other things to help us out. Many members have brought the most wonderful dinners and that has meant so much to us. Everything has been delicious and we are just so thankful for all of the help. We are able to spend more time focusing on Haley and Britani, rather than worrying about what's for dinner. Thank you for thinking of us! To anyone reading this--if you are in search of a wonderful church to worship at, please check out this one. It's a great place to worship the Lord. Please check out http://www.phcc-gasburgva.org/ for more information.

Benefit Ride- August 27, 2006
Gerald Baird, great uncle of Haley, decided a few months ago that he would like to have a Benefit Ride for Haley to help with her rising medical costs. He found many people willing to help. After getting the word out into the community with phone calls, flyers, and newspaper articles, he was getting word that people were coming from all over. Approximately 48 bikes showed up at Hard Times Restaurant in Bracey, VA on that sunny, HOT, Sunday. They rode to Kerr Dam, then to Henderson, NC, after that to Littleton, NC. They made a few stops along the way before returning to Bracey to have hot dogs and hamburgers. Gerald made up a bright pink "Hog Bank" to put donations in. Here are a few of the pictures taken that day. Thanks to the LakeHouse Restaurant of Littleton, NC for the "round on the house" for all riders. We (Haley's family) would like to thank everyone that made this benefit ride such a wonderful event. To all those that made it possible: THANK YOU. Thank you to the ones that spent their time setting up for this event and also to the ones that cooked and prepared food. Everything was wonderful! To everyone that rode and donated: We thank you from the bottom of our heart.
